Vasu Majumdar
Trustee
Vasu has been a member of The Queen’s Club since 2005. He brings in a mix of international professional advisory and industrial experience.
He has worked in the FMCG industry (Williamson Magor, the world's largest tea producer and Rubicon Drinks - the UK's leading fruit juice drink brand) and Corporate Finance (NM Rothschild & Sons and Grant Thornton UK LLP). During his tenure at Williamson Magor, as a Welfare Officer in his formative years in North East India (tea plantations in Dooars and Assam), he initiated two charitable welfare projects - Total Literacy Campaign and a Mother's Club. Both the initiatives were aimed at improving the living and working conditions of thousands of semi-skilled workers and their families involved in the tea industry.
During his school years, a significant part of his education (including playing squash at school and collegiate level) was funded by scholarships from the State Bank of India, and that has instilled a strong belief in how grant funding goes a long way in shaping careers for so many people that need that extra push and exposure.
A keen squash player, having played at a State Level in India and currently playing squash at a club level, he is interested in promoting squash in the diverse multi-cultural local communities in West London. He is passionate about giving more people of all ages, gender and backgrounds the opportunity to participate in sport and helping talented youngsters achieve their full potential, whilst holding to the values of respect and good sportsmanship. Vasu is an ACA-ICAEW and has an MBA from The University of Leeds, UK.
